Classic Homemade Strawberry Jam

Sweet, fresh, and bursting with flavor, this Classic Homemade Strawberry Jam is a perfect way to preserve the taste of summer. Whether spread on toast, swirled into yogurt, or used in baked goods, this jam is a pantry staple that’s simple to make and full of natural goodness.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and mashed

  • 3 cups granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup lemon juice

  • 1 packet (1.75 oz) powdered pectin

  • 5-6 sterilized half-pint canning jars

Instructions:

  1. Sterilize the Jars: Wash jars, lids, and rings in hot soapy water. Boil jars for 10 minutes and keep warm.

  2. Prepare the Jam: In a large pot, combine mashed strawberries, lemon juice, and pectin. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

  3. Add the Sugar: Stir in sugar and return to a rolling boil. Boil for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

  4. Fill the Jars: Remove from heat and carefully ladle hot jam into warm jars, leaving 1/4-inch headspace. Wipe rims, place lids, and tighten bands.

  5. Process the Jars: Place jars in a boiling water bath canner and process for 10 minutes.

  6. Cool & Store: Remove jars and let them cool undisturbed for 24 hours. Check seals and store in a cool, dark place for up to a year.

Enjoy your homemade strawberry jam on toast, biscuits, or straight from the spoon!
