Homemade Beeswax Food Wraps
Instructions:
Oven Method:
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 200°F (93°C).
2️⃣ Arrange Fabric: Place a fabric square on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
3️⃣ Sprinkle Wax: Evenly distribute beeswax pellets over the fabric, adding jojoba oil if using.
4️⃣ Melt & Spread: Place the baking sheet in the oven for 3-5 minutes until the wax melts. Use a brush to spread evenly.
5️⃣ Cool & Set: Lift the fabric and wave it gently to dry. Once cooled, use it to wrap food or cover bowls!
Ironing Method:
1️⃣ Cut two sheets of parchment paper larger than the fabric square.
2️⃣ Place one sheet of parchment paper on an ironing board or towel. Lay the cotton fabric on top.
3️⃣ Grate beeswax and evenly spread it across the fabric. Drizzle with jojoba oil for added flexibility.
4️⃣ Place the second sheet of parchment paper on top, sandwiching the fabric between the two parchment layers.
5️⃣ Heat the iron and slowly move it across the parchment paper, melting the wax into the fabric. You will see the wax spread and absorb.
6️⃣ Once fully coated, carefully peel back the top parchment and remove the waxed fabric.
7️⃣ Let it cool for a minute—your beeswax wrap is ready to use!
